IRR Involuntary MobilizationArmy Officer Unqualified ResignationAVVO - Army Officer Unqualified ResignationI am an Army Reserve medical officer, currently in IRR. I am considering resigning my commission as the end of my service obligation is approaching. I have some concerns as I previously had a difficult time getting into IRR in the first place. I found information about COL Meili online and read the reviews on this site. The reviews were accurate. I reached out to him via email and I was surprised that he called me back almost immediately (on a weekend). He answered all my questions, provided great advice and reassured me. He was caring and professional. I am very thankful for his kind assistance. - anonymous To see all of Bill's AVVO reviews, click here. An open letter to anyone facing an IRR RecallIRR Delay and ExemptionAn open letter to anyone facing an IRR Recall who seeks an IRR Delay and Exemption: If you are reading this, you are most likely facing the overwhelming burden of an involuntary mobilization from the IRR. Unfortunately, I can do nothing to lessen the anxiety, depression, and anger you're probably experiencing. I can, however, provide you with some hope. I've been there too. I hope this letter will ease any hesitation you might have about hiring Bill Meili. After receiving my orders, I read all of the blogs online and quickly rushed to my congressman's office. When my mother - who has worked for private attorneys for almost 20 years - first contacted Bill Meili, she was skeptical. Living in Massachusetts, I too was skeptical about hiring a lawyer from Texas to present my case. When I first spoke to Bill, he told me that he provided my "best shot" at receiving an exemption, and surprisingly he asked me to postpone the congressional intervention. Just two months after our initial conversation, I am thrilled to write that he was 100% right about his guidance and service, and I was 100% wrong about my skepticism. What I initially mistook for a sales pitch turned out to be a legitimate explanation from an expert in the Delay & Exemption process. I firmly believe that there is not another civilian in the country more familiar with the IRR Delay & Exemption process than Bill Meili. If you hire Bill, you hire much more than a lawyer from Texas. You hire a former JAG officer who remains committed to the Army values that he learned during his 26 year military career. You hire a man who cares about, and will be interested in, your family and the struggles it is currently experiencing. In the time that Bill represented me, he contacted my employer, doctors, fiancee, and family members. I am being completely honest when I write that each one spoke about the professionalism and genuine concern with which he worked. Bill worked so hard to reach out to the important people in my life, that I actually know people jealous that Bill did not call them. You will be just as impressed with Bill's diligence and work ethic as you will be with his personality. I am a former military officer who still expects attention to detail and professional integrity. As a former officer himself, he demands the same. He always responded to my emails and returned my phone calls. He never misplaced a single document I sent, and there were a lot of documents. On many occasions, Bill and I worked late into the night and even on some weekends to ensure we presented the best case possible. Bill amazed me with the final case he constructed. He compiled a case - which had to be nearly 35 pages in length - that clearly outlined, in accordance with numerous Army regulations, why I was no longer fit to deploy. Truthfully, I could not have done this myself. Thank you for your service, and if you have any further questions for me, I'd be happy to speak with you. Simply get in touch with Bill Meili and he will make the necessary arrangements. NJF Captain, Engineers Separated Honorably From an Overseas ClientIRR Delay and ExemptionClient Testimonial #8 - From an Overseas Client If you have received IRR mobilization orders, are in a state of panic and don't know where to turn then you need Bill Meili. He is the answer to your IRR mobilization question. Bill Meili was the best thing that happened to my family in 2008. The worst was receiving IRR mobilization orders for Iraq in September. My family was devastated when we learned the Army was not finished with me. After separating from the military in May of 2005, I had no intentions of putting on the uniform again. I currently have a 20 month old daughter, loving wife and job I'm very happy with. Life is good. We live in Germany. The distance across an ocean meant nothing. Bill and I have never met in person and just talking to him on the phone filled me with confidence. We conducted all our business through email and phone calls. Bill was highly professional and always available. He holds himself to the highest communication standards with his clients I have ever witnessed. Bill always made time for my family and quickly answered any questions we had. I always received a response to email correspondence in less than twentyfour hours. Bill did an outstanding job in exceeding all my expectations. He helped me gather documents, gave me pointers on what to write in my letter to HRC St. Louis and gave me critical information on the timing and placement of that important call to the Delay and Exemption Team. The total package Bill brought to the table helped my family and I rest easier during this whole process. We were grateful to have his confidence and proven experience on our side. Bill called me at 11pm, German time, and personally told me the good news that my request for exemption was approved and I will be receiving an Honorable discharge. My family and I are extremely happy with the results and couldn't have done it without Bill. I thought of going it alone but I'm glad we made the right choice and asked for help. I owe Bill so much; he has saved my family and really helped us through this difficult time. JRF Former IRR Sergeant US ARMY Straight Talk From a Former Army WifeIRR Delay and ExemptionTo "former" army spouses who want to keep it that way... When my husband, a former Chemical officer, received orders mobilizing him to active duty from the IRR I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It seemed too ridiculous to believe. He'd done a deployment to the sandbox. He'd fought a stop-loss to get out and now after two years of us finally getting to be in one spot they were calling him back. I knew it wasn't personal, he's just a name on a list, but after 8 years of war and policies like these I couldn't seem to convince my heart that someone down in headquarters wasn't sitting there planning how to best screw up the life we had just managed to put back together. I was angry. I used words that proper ladies aren't supposed to know. I cried. But curses and tears don't solve problems. People solve problems. People like Bill Meili. We contacted Bill about a week after my husband received the orders. We had been searching for IRR lawyers and Bill certainly stood out. Nonetheless we were cautious. The last thing we wanted was to pay big bucks to fail. Having fought for an exception to stop-loss in 2006 we knew that we were capable of filing our own case but it would mean a lot of work for us and we had no guarantee that we would win. Bill was upfront and honest with us. He told us exactly what he would charge, no hourly fees, no fine print just a flat rate. It was a lot of money and we told him we'd think about it and asked for references. Between the satisfied clients and his record of success we didn't have to think about it very long. Obviously we decided it was worth the cost. We are both busy working on our PhDs. What we really could not afford was the lost time and opportunities that mobilization would cause. We needed a successful exception; Bill could and did provide that. Putting together an exception packet is not trivial. We have demanding jobs and little free time. We needed the best possible packet with the least possible work. Bill had the expertise to make that happen. He listened to our story, told us what we needed to do, kept in touch while we worked on our tasks, and put together a detailed, exhaustive packet for submission. What we couldn't afford was another year of transition when he returned, of his trying to find a job or to get started with school (again), another year before he was back to normal. What we couldn't afford was for my husband to lose the opportunity to finish his degree, for him to get hurt, for him to be killed in action. The truth was we couldn't afford not to hire Bill. Bill Meili did a great job handling my husband's case. He was prompt and professional. He knows the regulations inside and out; he knows how to make your packet succeed. It was obvious that he cared about helping the soldiers that he represents and was a pleasure to work with. Most importantly, Bill gets results. Good luck to you all. BR A USMA Grads AnswerIRR Delay and ExemptionClient Testimonial #17 - A USMA Grads Answer After graduating college in 2001, I served 5 years on active duty. During one of those years, I was part of Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. I am proud of my service to our great nation and was ready to start building my career and family. I separated as a Captain and transferred to the IRR never thinking I would get called back. I kept close to friends I had in the military who separated before me. None of them received orders and their resignations where accepted as planned. In February of 2009, my world was turned upside down. I had just moved my family to a new state and my wife and I both started new jobs when the orders came. Stability in this economy for a family of 4 is tough enough without adding mobilization orders to the list. When I heard about the orders, I went numb. I couldn't think let alone start devising a plan to handle the situation. My tensions at work and home immediately escalated exponentially as I was forced to take on this new job and handle the resurrection of past deployment memories. One of the first things I did was talk to friends and old commanders to get advice and guidance for what steps to take. I also contacted several congressmen to explain my situation. I had never felt so lost or helpless in my life. And the thought of deploying again while leaving my family behind at such short notice was unbearable. I started to read blogs on the internet about soldiers applying for delays and exemptions. Most were failed cases even though their reasons were just. I decided to develop my own exemption package, but without fully understanding all the Army's policies and regulations my chances of success were decreased. This situation was not one where I would accept anything but putting my best foot forward. The consequences were too great to not do everything in my power to build a successful case. Bill Meili was my answer. I was very hesitant at first to put my trust in his hands knowing what could happen. After talking to some references he provided who happen to be classmates of mine, I felt I could finally take a breath of air. Bill was great from the time I met him on the phone to the time a decision was made on my packet. We thoroughly talked through my case and he explained what he needed me to do. We developed a clear set of actions and deliverables from both parties and then executed. Bill laid out an accurate timeline and explained the process I was about to embark on. He was with me on every step of the way and truly was my right hand man. No matter what question I asked him, Bill was right there to take care of me and provide me with the confidence I needed. In March of 2009, I received word that my exemption was approved. I can now focus on what matters to me most in life with my family and work. Bill is a hero to my family and we will never forget how a stranger to us at the time did so much for us. If you are serious about submitting and getting approval for an exemption packet, then you need Bill Meili. He will individualize the case to your situation to give you the best possible chance for an approval. I highly recommend the service Bill provides. Take charge of the situation and pick up the phone! You're not alone! MGB Former Captain, ADA A Client Overwhelmed With Conflicting InformationIRR Delay and ExemptionClient Testimonial #31 - From a Client Who Was Overwhelmed With Conflicting Information When I received IRR mobilizations orders from the Army, I was caught completely off guard, and I felt as overwhelmed as I ever had. I knew that I had to fight it but I had no idea where to begin. I went through every scenario I could think but I didn't have a clue on how to go about doing anything. I started searching online for any information I could find on getting an exemption from IRR deployment. The amount of information out there is vast and I didn't know what was true and what wasn't. Scanning though all of these ideas the other people say they've had success with just made me feel more overwhelmed. Then by chance I stumbled upon Bill's website. I had never hired a lawyer for anything before and had no idea on what to believe. I brought up the idea with my family and we decided to think about it while we put an exemption packet together on our own. We figured, "what could a lawyer do that we couldn't do ourselves?" After an informative phone conversation with Bill we decided to go ahead and hire him. Right from the start we began to see how vast Bill's knowledge of the exemption process really is. He immediately gave me a list of things that I needed to do, and I only had about a week to do them. I was completely freaked out about getting the request in on time, but I did everything that Bill told me to do and everything seemed to fall into place. The difference between the packet we would have sent in and the packet Bill put together was night and day. If you are hesitant at all when it comes to hiring Bill don't be. The knowledge that he brings to the situation is priceless and the support and confidence that he gave to me and my family was second to none. My request for exemption was approved by the Army and with it came an honorable discharge. This process helped me put my life back into focus. Bill not only helped me with the exemption request but he also helped me find the help that I didn't even realize I needed. With Bill's help and expertise I was able to achieve an exemption from IRR mobilization. I am 110% confident that without hiring Bill Meili I would not have gotten an exemption and I would now be deployed. Client Found a Partner to Achieve His GoalIRR Delay and Exemption From a Client Who Found A Partner to Achieve His GoalIf you're reading this you have a problem, you don't have much time, you're looking for help and you have to make a decision - soon. I've walked your path. In that light, the following is provided for your consideration. Bill Meili and his IRR services are real. I and a number of other testimonial folks offer you POC information to verify his credentials: feel free. You could also check the Texas State Bar, the Better Business Bureau and have your bank check out his. I could not have created the final product received from Bill. To attempt quantification - I could probably have gotten to a good 50 - 60%. NOTE that I say this with following credentials; West Point graduate, 20 years in the service, and having earned a pay check as a civil servant, I have been part of honors societies focused on writing. That translates to; I know the Army, I know how to read regulations and put packages together for boards, I know how to hit the high points and I can write pretty well when I put my mind to it. Regardless, I could not have developed the package Bill did. Period. He has tons more experience and is current. Would a 60% effort have worked? Don't know. Don't care. Didn't take the chance. I hired a lawyer but I got a dedicated partner. Yes, I realize I was paying him but rarely has someone I paid told me a draft I provided wasn't good enough and go do it again. Partners do that. Rarely has someone I paid worked the same hours I did so they were available to me. Partners do that. Rarely has someone I paid brought empathy, understanding and motivation to the table. Partners do that. In one week, Bill Meili earned my complete trust. Bill is the most responsive person I ever worked with. Period. His studied reply to my first e-mail for help arrived 18 minutes after I sent mine late on a Sunday night: it was not a canned response. It was Bill on the other end doing his thing. During the course of our work together I teased him that he probably works out with a BlackBerry in his hand. His response? "I do." I believe it. He delivered what he said he would, when he said he would, as he said he would. Being in two different time zones, never having met each other, and merging work ethics over the Internet and a phone was never a problem. NOTE that partners will make you work hard to achieve a goal; Bill did. His final product was not boiler plate; it was cut from whole cloth reflecting the peculiarities of the case. He didn't just "crank something out." I was impressed. Bill understands and appreciates the Army as a retired Colonel. This was important to me. We were not attacking the Army. We were working within an established system to achieve a goal. Honor and dignity were maintained. You're in a tough spot. I understand. Mr. Meili was ideal for me. I commend him to you for the reasons stated above. AJC |
