I had almost given up hope on my chances of staying in the Marine Corps, being able to finish out my contract, and leaving with an honorable discharge given my circumstances. Colonel William C. (Bill) Meili went above and beyond working my case. He successfully fought an almost certain administrative separation, after my nearly 14 month Unauthorized Absence (UA), which was terminated by apprehension. But he also saw to it that my court-martial charges were withdrawn, and that my NJP protected and preserved my rank.
